Tigerwood is a native wood of Brazil and comes from managed forests. It has a wide range of coloring and striping. The striping will vary from fine lines to very bold strokes. It is a boldly striped species which has an orangish/reddish brown background with wide dark brownish black striping. The sapwood of Tigerwood is a brownish white to dirty gray colour, while the heartwood is reddish brown to light golden brown. The species has a very unique wavy, interlocked, irregular grain. It is a very durable and unique floor. It richens in color once exposed to sunlight. Tigerwood will become darker with age and exposure, making the contrast between background and stripes less noticeable, but no less visually inspiring
